Mission Group thank everyone for their support of the Harvest Lunch in aid of All We Can’s work. We identify particularly with those living in Ethiopia who are being helped and trained to grow food from seed, and how to look after the humble potato tuber so it, too, can provide a harvest and food to eat. The sum of £320 has been sent off to All We Can—an excellent total, well done everyone! Many thanks from Christian Aid for the sum of £686 which we were able to send them following our very successful Quiz evening.  75 people enjoyed the evening which proved to be a very happy occasion. Thanks to all who participated or helped in any way. SHOEBOX APPEAL……..This year we are again supporting the T4U shoebox appeal and 29 boxes have been collected in church and taken to the despatch point in Stockport. These boxes bring real hope and happiness to many deprived children and families at Christmas, please accept our thanks for your support and love for those whose lives are much less than comfortable, and are indeed challenging. One of our Friday Tots’ Mums, and someone who we have known for quite some time, has let us know that she is going to South Africa at the end of November to do some work with a charity, called Morning Star Children’s Centre. The Centre works with under-privileged children and young people who, themselves, have HIV/Aids, and whose parents may also have died with this condition, leaving their family to be brought up by grandparents. Some of the young people may have developed very poor eyesight, or have become blind. Elaine asked whether or not anyone in the church might be able to help her by donating knickers, underpants, socks for toddlers and children through to the age 10/11. Between Friday Tots and the church members we have collected several bags of items which we trust will be of use to the families in the Morning Star Children's Centre. Thank you for your support!
