World Day of Prayer .....Friday, 5th March at 2.00p.m. on Zoom

This year we have the opportunity to hold our World Day of Prayer Service on Zoom - or is it a challenge? Surely, it is both! Yes, it is a challenge to encourage everyone to join us on a Zoom Service, and we realise it will prove difficult for some of our community to access if they are not able to use Zoom, nor the trechnology afforded. But, by being presented online, it may well be helpful to others who might not be able to join in if it was, as usual, in a church setting - maybe people self-isolating, carers, those who are anxious about being out and about among others. So, of course, it is a Challenge, but it is an Opportunity to share with the Christian women of Vanuatu in their lovely Service entitled 'Build on a Strong Foundation'.

This theme is particularly poignant for the inhabitants of this string of Pacific Islands. In 2015 Cyclone Pam caused significant devastation, and the islands were just about beginning to recover when last year, 2020, they were hit by Cyclone Harold, leaving in its wake further and renewed devastation.

But, they are a strong people, and the women who have prepared this Service for the World o share, bring to us worship that is joyful, meaningful, bright yet stong . Do please endeavour to join Zoom if you are able on Friday 5th March at 2.00p.m. (the Link will be available by contacting the church office on aemcchurchoffice@gmail.com)

This Service is the only way in which the World Day of Prayer raise their funds; funds which are distributed across the world supporting Projects of various kinds, but all of which are in great need of support. As we are not able to receive an Offering during the Online Service, we are encouraged to send a donation if we are able and would like to support the work of WDP.  If you would like to help, please send your donation to Alderley Edge Methodist Church,
