Today, 21st October, our regular Lunchtime Concert Series - sadly having been in wraps since the March lockdown - took on a new look with the first of our Virtual Coffee Concerts. A small audience came along to enjoy, in as safe a Covid manner as possible, a wonderful virtual performance by lyric coloratura soprano, Charlotte Hoather, accompanied by pianist, George Todica.

Our usual light lunches of sandwiches and cake could not be served, and, being a Coffee Concert, all we were able to offer our audience was a cup of coffee (in a disposable beaker), such are the restrictions Covid places on us all at present. However, the atmosphere and ambience of the morning was very pleasant, and those who attended left the Church having enjoyed an excellent concert, with some confirming they would like to have opportunity to attend another such Virtual Coffee Concert if it could be arranged.

Today's streaming will be repeated as a Virtual Coffee Concert on

Wednesday 4th November at 10.30 am for 11.00 am

Due to social distancing, places are strictly limited to 30, and tickets (free) can be obtained  from https://www.eventbrite.com/e/virtual-coffee-concert-a-recital-by-charlotte-hoather-soprano-tickets-126265474433.

At the moment the church is supporting work being underaken by the Methodist Church's Relief and Development Fund, known as 'All We Can'. All We Can's Harvest Theme is 'Breaking the Cycle of Poverty (www.allwecan.org.uk), and one aspect of this vital work is providing bicycles for young people living in poverty in some African Countries, so enabling them to get to school, receive an education, and give them hope for the future.
