All We Can is an international development and emergency relief organisation. Focusing on those in greatest need, it is inspired by Christian principles, and is an integral part of the Methodist family. Its purpose: All We Can helps find solutions to poverty by engaging with local people and organisations in some of the world’s poorest communities to end the suffering caused by inequality and injustice. Their theme for Harvest this year is ‘Deepen Your Roots’ and is based on the ‘humble’ potato. We are joining churches across the Connexion in using this theme for our own Harvest Services on Sunday, 6th October—so watch this space for more details! We will welcome Rev. Pam Butler to lead our Early Communion Service at 9.45a.m. and Rev. Alan Mimmack at 11.00a.m. But…. Something to do with potatoes might follow! Might it be a Baked Potato lunch, or a Hot Pot, or something and mash…...watch out for details on the Weekly Notice Sheet in due course!

    Prayer for the day
We pray that your love may dwell with us in all that we do. As you suffered on the cross, Lord, we pray for those suffering today. As you forgave on the cross, Lord, we pray for those needing forgiveness today. As on the cross you showed us God's great love for the world, so we pray for that world today. Loving God thank you that before we loved you, you first loved us. We recognise your love for us today and choose to love you too.
