Food Bank Delivery to Wythenshawe 23rd February 2021

What an amazing collection of bags, packets, and boxes of food of all kinds have been dropped into our Food Bank Boxes placed outside garden gates across thes village! How can we say Thank You to all the friends and members of the Church who have contributed so generously to the monthly 'drop-off' to help our colleagues at Wythenshawe reach out to their local families in great need of support, and who at times face enormous challenge in being able to put food on the table to feed their children. Some days, the adults have to go without so what little food might be available can stretch as far as possible.

A growing number of our contributors are not known to us really, and it never ceases to amaze those garden gate owners at the volume of donations left in bags, or popped into the boxes. It is a true indication of being a good neighbour, and of thinking of others less fotunate than themselves. To everyone, Alderley Edg Methodist Church says a huge THANK YOU.

Here are some photos of two cars loaded with donations that have been transferred to Wythenshawe today. Their white van was well  filled by the time our cars were emptied into it, and they were delighted.  Our next delivery, we hope, will be towards the end of March, just in time for the end of the school term and in readiness for Easter. Well done everyone!
